Free Speech on Substack ...
I'm banned for a 100 years from 2nd Smartest Guy for trying to correct misleading information about the New Zealand jab exemptions
After perusing this post:
I decided to leave a few comments to set the record straight about the Significant Service Disruption exemptions, which were granted to healthcare workers, not ‘politicians’, as I wrote here
and here
I also interviewed two of the people behind the Official Information Act requests that led to these disclosures here
and here
I attempted to call attention to the misleading headline in 2nd Smartest Guy’s substack and noted that it was not correct to promulgate something false. After receiving a reply from the author that told me to read other substacks and also note that it was ‘politicians and elites’ who received the exemptions, I attempted to respond. I found myself abruptly banned from commenting on this person’s substack for 100 years. Oh well. So much for our much vaunted free speech.
Which leads to some very serious reflections. I find myself in the unenviable position of being censored for expressing an opinion, backed by fact, that goes against a narrative which, in its more colorful and dramatic form that plays loose with factual data, nuance and truth, is fervently embraced by some members of our freedom loving community.
That shouldn’t surprise anyone. People are people.
I will continue writing in a way that relies on firm evidence rather than exaggeration and hyperbole.
