I am very glad you are now writing on substack. Your use of written language is brilliant and conveys years of experience that many others wish they themselves had. Well for me it does anyway.

I only hope our worst fears do not come to fruition. Maybe they won't. But I don't like maybes.

It frustrates me immensely there is no coordinated concern, or mitigation of those fears occurring, unless of course you consider the widespread rollout of AEDs to public places adequate - which I do not. An ambulance at the bottom of the cliff. Bandaids on bullet wounds.

We need better.

Glad to have found you via a mid western doc substack! Please on ‘When I brought the issue of treatment up at my local hospital, I was referred to a specialist who told me, simply, that there was no evidence that any treatment worked.’….does that mean they thought people should not be treated? What happens when they went to hospital? I remember during delta last year people were advised to keep Panadol…..or go to hospital….what a choice!

they offered NO treatment at all, that's what that meant -- so you basically stayed home and either got better or you went to hospital when you couldn't breathe. It was criminal. They did not support any kind of early treatment. Only recently I heard of someone who was prescribed molnupiravir for covid by her GP, which made her exceptionally sick so she stopped it on her own.
