Cash is not just. Convenience, it is physical interact, harder to steal than digital, already taken token.
Taxicabs don't need but a flag or hail of put your arm up. They destroyed my taxi company when I ran for mayor of SF. ScKamala Harris gave me solitary isolation.
Now uberrlyftwhores rule with nowhere to go, even driverless....
I ran against care not cash Gavin Gruesome Newsom, I lost my taxi business and went to jail.
Now we have scamdemic Harmacide care not cash. We have war galore.
WHat I spoke out against has been held against all of us now, and I must basically be silenced forever.
leftists /statists were always warmongers. Examples; state sponsored terror in France, Russia, Germany, China, etc., In the US Cloward-Piven strategy playing out before our eyes w the immigration crises in Europe, US Southern Border. The strain on govt resources, inflation & economic instability leading to national collapse. the trail of broken lives they leave behind is as endless as the chaos & destruction leftists agitate for. Calling them "liberals" is just a ruse.
Oh well. I once told a friend who had just got "on line" around 1991 that the internet was just a gimmick and wouldn't last, after trying, unsuccessfully, to search for anything on ley lines.
How wrong was I eh!
It's probably the single most powerful and culturally significant development since the printing press. But just like the splitting of the atom, the awesome power unleashed can be misused.
Definitely my favourite of your musing posts, Manny. One can't help noting the relentless dumbing down and infantilizing of the younger generations that has occurred this century. It's hard not to indulge in conspiracy theories. Because how could anyone think that turning young people away from science and history, away from logical thinking, the arts of debate, sensitivity to nuance, and deep yet finely tuned emotional responses could make them more intelligent? But perhaps it's more a mass unconscious impulse moving the 'elites' towards the homogenization and dumbing down of society for purposes of control. Or perhaps it's because all the best, strengthening, inspiring, character forming things are achieved by effort and risk of failure, by dedicated hard work over extended periods, and people who have been conditioned to expect things now, just because they're special, are never going to achieve anything worthwhile.
But all is not lost. My wife and I have a son, aged seventeen. He refused to get the covid jab because of his own research. (Of course his parents weren't getting it, but he was of an age where he might have got the jab just to show us that it was his life to do what he wanted with). Then, after being homeschooled all his life, he decided he wanted, for years 12 and 13, to go to a posh private school. After much anxious arithmetic we agreed. After coping with his first experience of school - with an intense curriculum - his first experience of living away from home, and juggling schoolwork with his responsibilities in the Air Cadets, after frequent whinging and fishing for sympathy (boy, were we glad going to school had been his idea!) he's achieved at least a Merit result and maybe an Excellent. He has his sights set on becoming an airline pilot and will achieve it. Yes, I'm a proud parent boasting. But I'm also making the point that there are young people out there who are making their own way and forging ahead. The good thing about St Andrews is that because it depends on paying parents it has to eschew woke ideology knowing parents don't like it, and it also eschews mediocrity and educates kids to be the best. There are some impressive young people attending that school. So, yes, there is hope.
Well, first of all, thank you for your kind words about my musing ... and then, thanks even more for this inspiring story about your son! Yes, there is hope.
I agree Doc. I think doctors were way better before computers and the internet, because they actually had to remember stuff. Now my GP has 2000 patients, and wouldnt even know my name without a computer list. They spend the time staring at a screen instead of their patients, and rely on tests and scans instead of direct observations of their patients. My niece got terminal bowel cancer cos her GP was too busy reading about her history to bother taking her symptoms seriously.
I am so very sorry to hear about your niece ... someday I'm going to write a piece about what I think makes for a good, decent doctor. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Yes, it culminates in worship of the beast, and the voluntary taking of the mark. Understanding of 666 is not far away. But we who believe that Jesus redeemed us from slavery to evil are not destined for wrath:
1 Thessalonians 5:8, 6-7, 9-11 KJV
[8] But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
[6] So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. [7] For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
[9] For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. [10] He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. [11] Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Dr Manny thanks as always. IMHO/experience (and according to best evidence I've seen) consciousness makes matter not vice versa. We are each prone to repeat stories of suffering and victimhood to ourselves without realising that we have become prisoners of our own neurological habits, the disruptive incoherent frequencies of which cause stress and therefore disease of brain and body. The cure is meditation, as it is for all injuries, illness and terminal disease.
Transcendental Meditation (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Beatles, David Lynch, etc) and heartmath.org are part of the effective evidenced use of energies (electrical, magnetic, in tune with quantum and infinite energy fields) informing the work of DrJoeDispenza.com.
Supernatural powers are deep in our souls when we are ready to accept and surrender to uncertainty; that we cannot predict the future, and yet we can create it.
To lead with the heart is a good start towards understanding that change externally comes from within us. We change external realities by changing our 'self'. It's about vibrations, not atoms (although of course sub-atomic particles are basically vibrations).
To forgive our enemies is the bliss of transcendence. If we hate or revile a foe we poison ourselves. Ultimately we are one universal consciousness, and so if we direct our attention (energy) negatively (anywhere) so we increase our incoherence (disease). Better to reverse this, so becoming coherent and manifesting new peaceful realities. Love, gratitude, peace and healing to all.

Yes it is ... and it is a source of shame that so many 'liberals' have turned out to be ferocious warmongers. Thanks for the link.

Indeed, and like a hammer it can be used to build a house -- or bash somebody's head in ...
Tru dat

Saw it twice as you did. The second was after backpacking on pilgrimage from Assisi and being the first pilgrim entering Rome from there for the year.
Want to do another someday from Mt. Sinai to Jerusalem but will never make it with the brutal genocide ongoing in the "holy land"
That genocide is about to stop, and soon. Mark my words. Within a few months.

That's news to me!
Neither of us are one of them.
Definitely not!
