Dear Dr Garcia,

A gesture of profound generosity. All power to your creative writing. Is there perhaps an organic connection between concern for truth, willingness to share and creative strength? I should like to believe so.

Best regards

Paul V

Thank you so much.

Yes Paul V, lovely observation; moreover IMHO everything is connected via 'universal consciousness' equating to the 'quantum field' - hence the power of energy-healing, for example via the works of Joe Dispenza, shamanism, acupuncture, etc., mindful that the qualities of any instrument or methodology are determined by the artist or practitioner, rather than by the instrument or methodology.

And so, light and healing flow naturally through Dr Garcia, and through us all when we come to realise it.

Love, gratitude, peace, Alan

Beautifully written, sir. As you can see from the comments before mine, a few of us have wrestled with similar questions about how to balance creativity, audience engagement, and the flexibility to write on our own terms. I, too, transitioned to a free model recently, and I’ve been reflecting on how trends like this might affect the broader Substack community over time.

As someone who spent years in business and as a trend analyst before becoming an educator, I can’t help but wonder if the pressures that lead some of us to shift away from paid models are felt differently depending on where we are in life and career. For those of us who are older, perhaps there’s a different kind of urgency to focus on our creative and intellectual work without the constraints of regular output. I wonder how younger writers—those just starting or in the middle of their careers—navigate these choices and whether they experience the same pressures.

That said, in the weeks ahead I plan to explore some new approaches to content creation and education via my Substack, with the hopes of crafting offerings that serve those they’re intended for - while continuing to honor this incredible platform.

On a personal note, as both a lover of the written word and a lifelong learner, I must say that your honest and heartfelt writing style is inspiring. It brings out the student in me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to read and reflect alongside professors like you.

Well done, and God bless.

I think your decision speaks to your true character and integrity! I always enjoy your writing. Writing only when it moves you comes across in your articles and makes them more impactful than someone writing because they feel they have to. Thank you for doing what you do!

As the only decent news coming out of New Zealand, you will be sorely missed.

Thank you for spending a lot of your time delving into the mess and coming out with the truth.
